Welcome to the Teddy/James Big Bang!


This community is for a fest dedicated to the creation of fanfics of 15,000 words or more that revolve around Teddy Lupin and James Sirius Potter which will be illustrated by artists.


Rules

The rules for the authors are as follows:

Your completed fanfiction must be a minimum of 15,000 words. We want this to be challenging, but at the same time we don't want to put people off by having a huge word count, so are hoping this is a good compromise. Of course, you are more than welcome *coughs*encouraged*coughs* to write more than that.

Your fanfiction must be an independent story written specifically for Teddy/James Big Bang and can't therefore be a sequel to an existing fic or a part of an existing wip.

To have art created for your fanfiction, you must submit a draft the artists can work from by the 24th of March. This does not have to be complete; all we ask for is that it is a minimum of 10,000 words so that the majority of the story is complete. If you are having trouble getting to the word count by this date, please don't hesitate to contact the mods.

Background pairings are allowed as long as the story focuses on Teddy and James together.

The complete fic, which must be beta read, needs to be submitted by the final deadline 20th of May. It should be emailed to the mods (at teddyjamesmods @ gmail . com) by 12:00 midnight GMT.

Even though this fest is not an anonymous one, please do not repost your work anywhere until July the 1st.


The rules for the artists are as follows:

The fanart must contain Teddy, James or both Teddy and James. At least one piece should include both of them.

For this fest, each artist must create at least three pieces of art for their chosen fanfic. We want to challenge the artists as well as the writers.

All art must be created specifically for the fanfiction.

Fanmixes are not an accepted form of art for this fest.

You will be given roughly two months to create your illustrations and final pieces are due the same time as final drafts of fanfics at 12:00 midnight GMT on the 20th of May.

Characters involved in explicit sexual activity should be 16+. Please warn for any under-age (below 18 for most countries) characters engaged in sexual activity.

Extensions will be granted on a case by case basis. However, contact the mods as soon as possible if you are going to need one at teddyjamesmods @ gmail . com.

Rules for submissions:

For fanfics, please send the file as .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .txt.
a. Make sure your fic is a minimum of 15,000 words
b. You do NOT need to html code your fic as we will posting the fic and art to our googlesites website.
c. Please use a sans-serif font (such as Arial, Verdana or similar) and font size 12.

For artworks, please send the file as .jpg, .gif, or.png.
a. Please size your artwork to a reasonable size and easily viewable on a standard screen size.
b. Compress your files into a .zip file and send it.
c. Please provide one 150x150 WORKSAFE thumbnail per piece.

In the email subject, please put "USERNAME, TITLE OF STORY".

TIMELINE

December 1st 2011 - January 1st 2012
Sign-ups
This sign-up is mainly to give us a good idea of how many people are willing to participate. It will not only be for the writers, but for the artists as well. At this stage, we will grant everyone who signs-up access to the community dedicated to participants.

March 24th, 2012
Fanfiction drafts are due
If you do not complete a draft by this time, then the mods will assume that you have dropped out. Drafts must consist of at least 10,000 words, but if you have your complete fic done by this stage you are more than welcome to send that.

March 25th 2012
Artists claim
Artists will be allowed to pick which fic they wish to illustrate and can get started on creating their works.

May 20th 2012
All final submissions due
